Daniel Ashman
Originally from North Canton, Ohio; Daniel Ashman joined the Uptown
Gallery co-op in the spring of 2009. He earned a Bachelor’s of Fine
Arts in Painting from Kent State University in 2005. His paintings are
an amalgamation of different media including but not limited to; oil,
acrylic, and ink. Primarily focusing on the human condition (humanity
and the environment which encompasses them); he hopes that
humanity is able to examine how they impact their environment. These
works often have a cartoonish undertone due in part to his childhood
influences (Bill Watterson’s Calvin and Hobbes, Transformers, and
the comic-con culture), all of which have influenced the way he
interprets life.
