Kathy Hoppe
A product of a military family, Kathy has lived in more countries than
states. Through travel, she has been exposed to the art of many
cultures. The linear quality of Asian art and the colors of the Post
Impressionists have greatly influenced her work. In response to her
environment and the objects therein, Kathy uses oil paint to interpret
interiors, still life and landscapes, often-in combination.
A BFA from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro led to a
career in Art Education. She continues to teach and is an instructor of
art at St. Christopher’s Lower School in Richmond.
She has had additional studies at VCU, the Studio School of The
Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, the University of Richmond, the Oxbow
School Napa California, and the Nimrod Hall Arts Program. Her work
is in many private collections.
"The linear quality of

Impressionists have
greatly influenced my
work."
