Howard Vaughan
Howard Vaughan has been painting since childhood.  Born in
Richmond, VA and educated in art and studied under the watchful eye
of John Slavin.  The late John Slavin was a noted portrait artist who
painted President Harry Truman for the White House. Mr. Vaughan
also had several portrait seminars with Daniel Green, well known oil
and Pastel artist. He also studied Art at Richmond Professional
Institute (VCU). After his retirement, Vaughan donated most of his time
to painting landscapes in the Richmond area as well as visual scenes
of NC, WV, and PA.

Howard is currently represented by The West End Gallery, Visual
Expansion Gallery in West Chester, PA, The Beveled Edge Gallery in
Richmond.  Vaughan is a member of the Virginia Watercolor Society,
and Southern Watercolor Society.

Several years ago, the City of Daytona Beach commissioned Mr.
Vaughan to execute sixteen pastel portraits of the former Mayors for
the entrance to their City Hall.
